ASHBURN, Georgia (CNN) -- Students of Turner County High School started what they hope will become a new tradition: Black and white students attended the prom together for the first time on Saturday.

In previous years, parents had organized private, segregated dances for students of the school in rural Ashburn, Georgia, 160 miles south of Atlanta.

Wise Intelliegnt Responds to Jason Whitlock About Imus

Friends, I've just come across an article regarding the unsettling (but entirely typical) speech of "shock jock" Don Imus.  (Shock Jock being a term that broadly implies an exception to the standard set of moral expectations)  In his latest transgression, Imus couched slurs of the Rutgers women's basketball team in the stereotyped language of the African-American community.   Imus: "That's some rough girls from Rutgers. ... Man, they got tattoos and some hard-core hos....

I just watched the German movie "The Lives of Others" at AFI Silver Spring. It is one of the best movies I've ever seen. It's a little like Crash in that it really develops peoples characters and shows how people can change.

"A year ago my approval rating was in the 30s, my nominee for the supreme court had just withdrawn and my vice president had shot someone. Ahh...those were the good old days."
