Needless to say the world is getting into a bit of a crunch scenerio.

Oil reserves are running out, as consumption increases exponentially. Unless a shift is made to electric transport infrastructure (google tesla motors) and from oil and gas to nuclear as well as others (nuclear fuel will last us several thousand years last I heard), the resource crunch will cause significant disruption troughout the developed world, and devastate the third world. Many third world nations are only now developing fossil fuel based economies, which when the resources run out will place them squarely back in the middle ages.

Unless we want a Judge Dread like scenerio where the world is made up of over developed super-city nations surrounded by middle age esque badlands something has to be done.

I strongly urge everyone who visits this site to read 1984 if you have not already. Not only is it a classic dystopic novel, but it is so relevant today that it almost seems to be a recount of modern history. It was written right after world war II, and frighteningly my version has a forward written in the 70s that states Orwell was warning not just about the future, but warning about the present. This was over 30 years ago.

Unfortunately, many of the issues within society brought up within the novel are very complex, and intimidating to say the least. Several are almost unthinkable, and take considerable tolerance and strength in the presence of fear to truely understand. Double think is the most significant, and amounts to mental cheating mixed with an agamonic controll of people's minds through induction of pure insanity. If you ever listen to Bush's speaches, you will find it is full of double think.

Here is what I write of. Many times when someone watches the news, someone who is convinced of their intellectual inferiority, they hear things that do not make any sense whatsoever to them. Yet because it is stated by someone in a position of power, and because they don't think of themselves as bright, they assume that "they must know what they are talking about", and dismiss their concerns and accept what they are told. This is a modern example of double think. Below I have posted a video where Bush says something that blatently and utterly contradicts itself DT style. The lack of redicule or even questioning shows we are already practicing double think. Below the video link is a wikipedia link to double think.

Now that the majority of American's senses have been dominated, we have not much left. I hope you all are considering what solutions can and eventually must be implemented.
